    About Horizontal Sheer Blinds

Lutron's horizontal sheer blinds pair sheer fabric layers with tilting fabric vanes, filtering daylight while keeping the view. Every such document in the library carries the Sivoia QS name.

    • Submittal 085313: tube drive raises, lowers, tracks position, tilts the vanes
    • Drive slows during tilt for a precise angle; vanes align across blinds
    • Outer sheers diffuse views into the home even with the vanes open
    • Noise 38 dBA or less, measured 3 ft (1 m) from the drive
    • Systems: Sivoia QS, Sivoia QS Wireless; submittal 085313 prints no power data

    Controls and keypads

Submittal 085313 names six controls: HomeWorks QS, RadioRA 2, GRAFIK Eye QS, seeTouch RF keypads, Serena 4-Group control, Pico. Pico submittal 369612 offers S09 marking with a View and Privacy toggle; a standard Pico works without it (3672457).

    Sizes and depth

Sell sheet 3672457 sizes the 2 inch vane to 96 in wide and 3 inch to 114 in, inches only. Submittal 085313 asks 2 1/4 in (57 mm) of depth inside-mounted; fully recessed, 3 3/4 in (95 mm) or 4 1/2 in (114 mm).

    Writing it into a tender

Attach submittal 085313 and sell sheet 3672457, with Pico submittal 369612 where hand-held control is planned. The contractor follows installation guide 045450 (2 inch vanes) or 045415, with wiring and setup guide 045520.

Which Horizontal Sheer Blinds system to specify

Seven systems, each with the case it suits and the limits Lutron prints for it. The source link opens the document that states them.

    Questions about Horizontal Sheer Blinds

Eight questions specifiers ask about Lutron horizontal sheer blinds, answered from submittal 085313, sell sheet 3672457 and the Pico submittal.

How wide can a Lutron horizontal sheer blind be?

Up to 96 in wide with the 2 inch vane and 114 in with the 3 inch vane (3672457, inches only). Submittal 085313 prints no width, height or weight limits; the sell sheet figures are the only size limits here.

Which Lutron system makes horizontal sheer blinds?

Sivoia QS: every horizontal sheer blind document in the library carries that name (085313). Submittal 085313 lists the blind as compatible with Sivoia QS and Sivoia QS Wireless systems.

The Palladiom, Palladiom Wire-Free, Serena, Triathlon, Triathlon Select and Commercial headings hold shared Sivoia QS documents only. Brochure 3671319 names no system on its horizontal sheer blind pages.

How much window depth does an inside-mounted horizontal sheer blind need?

At least 2 1/4 in (57 mm) with either the 2 in or the 3 in vane, per submittal 085313.

    • Fully recessed, 2 in vane: 3 3/4 in (95 mm)
    • Fully recessed, 3 in vane: 4 1/2 in (114 mm)
    • Outside mounts drawn on the trim and above the trim

Can a Lutron horizontal sheer blind go in a ceiling pocket?

Only as a general guide: submittal 085313 offers no standard pocket-mount configuration and draws minimum pockets for reference.

    • 2 inch blind: 3.52 in (89 mm) by 3.53 in (90 mm), Roller 64 mounting brackets
    • 3 inch blind: 4.76 in (121 mm) by 5.00 in (127 mm), Roller 100 pocket brackets
    • No pocket flap: the fabric expands when fully lowered

What does the View button do on a horizontal sheer blind?

On the 3-button seeTouch keypad, one View press lowers the blinds and opens the vanes; a second closes them (3672457). The raise and lower buttons adjust height or, in View mode, vane tilt.

Lutron reserves that keypad for RadioRA 2 or HomeWorks QS; the Pico S09 marking (369612) prints the same toggle.

How is a Lutron horizontal sheer blind powered?

Submittal 085313 prints no power data; the blind is compatible with Sivoia QS and Sivoia QS Wireless systems.

The contractor opens installation guides 045450 (2 inch vanes) and 045415 next, with wiring and setup guide 045520.

How quiet is a horizontal sheer blind, and where can it go?

Submittal 085313 caps blind component noise at 38 dBA, measured 3 ft (1 m) from the drive unit. Noise is given in dBA, the standard sound-level unit.

Lutron limits the blind to indoor use at 32 °F to 104 °F (0 °C to 40 °C), below 90% non-condensing humidity. Submittal 085313 lists cULus, NOM and CE approvals.

Which Lutron documents go into a tender for horizontal sheer blinds?

Attach submittal 085313, sell sheet 3672457 for vane sizes and fabrics, and Pico submittal 369612 where hand-held control is planned. The contractor follows installation guide 045450 for 2 inch vanes or 045415, with wiring and setup guide 045520.

Application note 048598, Measuring for Shades, Guidelines & Best Practices, is filed with the family.
