Installation walk-through for this Sivoia QS note
This Sivoia QS note gives eight steps, in the document's order.

Plan the conversion
Judge the condition of each shade first. Replacing the whole shade can bring new fabric or products not available at the first install.
Consider adding shades to more windows. Plan to swap every shade keypad for a compatible model from the keypad chart on page 5.
Check: A replacement keypad is chosen for the target system
Identify the drive
Read the drive model number from the label on the drive's wiring harness. Find its replacement in the drive upgrade chart on page 4.
For a wireless system, add one QSYC4-RCVR receiver per drive.
Check: The replacement drive model is confirmed
Identify the power supply
Read the model from the label on the power supply unit. Pick the replacement from the power supply chart on page 5.
Warning: A QED power supply must never power a QS drive or keypad
Swap the drive
Inside a tube (roller, Roman, Kirbé drapery, tensioned shade), slide the old drive out and the new one in. The swap can mean removing three screws and moving a bracket from the old drive to the new one.
A drive on a drapery track comes off after one screw and a quarter turn.
Choose the rewiring case
Pick the case on pages 6 and 7 that matches the conversion. More than one case can apply on the same project.
Case 1: QS drive and QS power supply
Take out the QED drive and the QED power supply. Fit the QS drive and the QS power supply, then cap off every unused wire.
Check: All unused wires are capped
Case 2: QS wired keypad and supply
Take out the QED keypad and the QED power supply. The old keypad may have been wired straight to the QED drive instead.
Fit the QS keypad and the QS power supply.
Case 3: QS Wireless drive and supply
Remove the QED drive and its QED power supply. Fit the QS drive, the QS wireless receiver and the QS power supply.
Plug the receiver into the connector on the QS Wireless drive and cap off all unused wires.
Check: The receiver is plugged into the drive's connector
