    About Roman Shades

    Lutron Roman shades are fabrication kits rather than finished shades. Lutron supplies the drive, tube, brackets and electronics; a workroom builds the fabric panel, lift cords and headrail.

    • Wired kit: Sivoia QS Roman Shade Fabrication Kits, submittal 085346
    • Battery kit: Triathlon and Serena Roman Shade Fabrication Kit, submittal 085762
    • Sivoia QS kit: 24 V to 36 V DC, 4-pin terminal block
    • Battery kit: 1.5 V D-cell alkaline, 6.0 V to 12.0 V DC
    • Clear Connect Type A RF, 30 ft (9 m) range, on the battery kit

    Sizes and lift

    The guide below prints each kit's width, height and lift from its submittal. Submittal 085346 lowers the Sivoia QS lifts for indirect lift through eye screws, tabled by cord geometry.

    Controls

    Triathlon models join Caséta (Smart Hub PRO), RA2 Select, RadioRA 3 and HomeWorks systems with QSX processors. Serena models pair with Pico, the 4-Group RF shade remote and Caséta; Triathlon models take the same remotes.

    Writing it into a tender

    Attach 085346 (Sivoia QS) or 085762 (Triathlon, Serena) and write the shade section to performance specification 122400, Window Shades. CAD drawings show the Roller 64 and Roller 100 Roman brackets.

    The Sivoia QS kit (submittal 085346) is wired; the Triathlon and Serena kit (submittal 085762) runs on batteries.

    The combined weight counts lift rings, cords, bands, battens and hembar with the fabric (085346).

    Does Lutron supply the fabric, cords and headrail?

    No: both submittals call the products fabrication kits for custom-fabricated Roman shades.

    • Submittal 085762: the lift mechanism is not provided by Lutron

    Lutron's lift rings, shipped with the Triathlon kit or ordered separately, attach the workroom's cords to the tube.

    What is the difference between direct and indirect lift?

    Direct lift wraps the cords straight onto the tube through the top lift rings, with no eye screws (085346). Indirect lift passes the cords through an eye screw or other guide on the headrail first.

    • Indirect lift lowers the allowable combined weight on every Sivoia QS drive
    • Triathlon and Serena kit (085762): direct lift only; indirect not recommended
