    About Triathlon Select

    Lutron's Triathlon Select roller shades are battery-powered open roll shades. Lutron pairs them with RA2 Select, RadioRA 3, HomeWorks QSX and Caséta Smart Hub PRO.

    • Submittal 085763: D-cell alkaline batteries in a sleeve inside the EDU
    • Regular roll and left drive only; brackets cannot be rotated
    • Drive: 6 V or 7.5 V DC at 4 W
    • 4.0 in-lb (0.45 N m) torque; 2.5 in/sec (63.5 mm/sec); 0.125 in (3 mm) stops
    • Clear Connect Type A RF, 30 ft (9 m) range; battery life two years

    Sell sheet 3672966 offers Haven blackout and translucent in white and light gray, with Lutron's wider collection behind them. Quoting guide 3672964 groups the other families by level and refers sizes by fabric to myProjects.

    A specifier attaches submittal 085763 and, when a Pico is specified, Pico submittal 369612 or 369847. The library holds no Triathlon Select installation guide; the mount comes from the CAD drawings named in the questions below.

    Submittal 085314 lists the 4-Group RF Remote Control for standalone Sivoia QS Triathlon shades, though 085763 does not name it. Pico submittal 369847 uses Serena, Triathlon and Sivoia QS columns without naming Triathlon Select.

    How many batteries does a Triathlon Select shade take?

    Five 1.5 V D-cells with Type A brackets, four with Type B, in a sleeve inside the EDU (085763).

    No: sell sheet 3672966 states a battery-powered shade has a light gap either side, so full blackout is impossible. The sell sheet recommends an outside mount for more effective light blocking.

    Submittal 085763 prints the nominal light gap at 0.75 in (1.90 cm). The sell sheet lists Haven Blackout in white and light gray among its four curated fabrics.
