Installation walk-through for 3684025
Lutron document 3684025 gives eleven steps, in the document's order, after the tools it lists.
The clearance, the check and the warning under a step are the document's own.
Tools
- Contractor paper (or poster paper)
- Masking tape, 2 in or wider (not painter's)
- Compass (optional, recommended)
- Black marker
- Scissors
- Tape measure
- Digital camera or camera-equipped smartphone
- Mailing tube
- Chalk line or string, for the radius check
Decide whether a custom track is needed
A standard curved track fits inside or outside a 90 degree corner at a 20 in (508 mm) bend radius. Lutron orders it in myProjects without a template.
Any other curve needs a custom track and this worksheet. Every dual curved track is custom.
Check: The curve is not the standard 90 degree, 20 in (508 mm) radius corner in single or tandem form
Review the limits
Check the curve against the limits in section 2.1: radius, inside angle, splices, length, dual spacing and pocket size. The finished track may differ from the template by plus or minus 3/4 in (19 mm).
Clearance: 1 in (25 mm) between track ends and walls; splice on a straight run of at least 16 in (406 mm)
Check: Length is within 216 in (548.6 cm) for one piece or 360 in (914.4 cm) spliced
Warning: Angles tighter than 90° are not allowed
Qualify the radius if unsure
Snap a chalk line or string between the two ends of the curved wall. From the midpoint of that line, run a second line at 90° to the first, out to the wall.
Mark a point on the second line 20 in from the wall. Anchor a string at that mark and cut it where it reaches the wall, a 20 in length.
Swing the string's end in an arc beside the wall.
Check: The string's arc is tighter than the wall, so the wall radius exceeds 20 in
Get the quote, COM number and label
Email a drapery track quote to Lutron's shading quotes team, based on the straight-length equivalent of the curve. State the radius type, configuration and splice.
The team returns a COM number and a bar-coded shipping label. Enter the order details on the worksheet.
Check: COM number and Lutron-issued label are in hand
Warning: A template sent without a COM number and Lutron-issued label is rejected
Build the paper layout
Tape contractor paper together close to the wall, on the ceiling or the floor, whichever follows the curve better. Tape every edge securely.
Mark the template Orientation A if made on the ceiling, or Orientation B if made on the floor.
Check: Orientation A or B is written on the template
Warning: Materials other than contractor or poster paper may be rejected
Trace the curvature
Use a compass or similar tool to keep a constant distance from the wall. Trace the track centerline onto the paper, then go over the pencil line with the black marker.
Clearance: 3.5 in (89 mm) typical from the wall for a wall-mounted track, or more to clear handles, sills, columns or vents
Check: Clearance to the wall and other obstacles is 3.5 in (89 mm) or more
Add the vital information
Write your contact details on the template or attach a business card.
Mark the centerline, the drive location or locations and both ends of the track. Mark any pocket's extents, the center of a tandem or center-draw track, the wall or pocket position and any splice.
Check: Every mark on the checklist is on the template
Prepare the template for submittal
Tape a copy of the completed worksheet page to the template and write the COM number on it. Confirm the centerline length equals the quoted track length.
Keep the template in one taped piece with an X drawn across every seam. The factory can then rejoin any piece that comes apart.
Check: Centerline length matches the quoted track length
Warning: Templates on separate sheets are rejected; each curved track needs its own template, except dual tracks
Photograph the template in place
Photograph the finished template in place. Take several more photos of the mounting surface and its surroundings, which Lutron may ask for to clarify the site.
Place the order
Process the custom curved drapery track quote as an order in myProjects before the template is sent.
Check: The quote shows as an order in myProjects
Pack and ship
Roll the template and slide it into a sturdy mailing tube. Fix the addressed COM label from the quote to the outside of the tube and ship by any carrier.
Check: The COM label is on the tube
Warning: Do not fold the template. Folding makes it hard to lay flat and may distort the curve's size and shape.

Questions about document 3684025
The answers come from Lutron document 3684025 and New Way's record of it.
What is Lutron document 3684025?
Lutron's six-page worksheet, P/N 368-4025 Rev D, reproducing the rev C of 11/2021 as a filled-in example on page 5.
Which revision of 3684025 is current?
Rev D, dated March 2023, is the revision Lutron publishes. New Way checked it against assets.lutron.com on 16 October 2026.
Which drapery tracks does 3684025 cover?
Lutron Sivoia QS drapery tracks.
When does a curved drapery track need a template?
Lutron document 3684025 orders a standard curved track, a 90° corner at a 20 in (508 mm) radius, in myProjects without a template. Any other curve, and every dual curved track, is custom and needs a paper template made on site.
What limits apply to a custom curved track?
Lutron document 3684025 sets a 20 in (508 mm) minimum radius and 90° as the tightest inside angle.
- Length: 216 in (548.6 cm) one piece, 360 in (914.4 cm) spliced
- Splices only on straight runs of at least 16 in (406 mm)
- Dual tracks 5.5 in (140 mm) apart, 1 in (25 mm) end clearance
What must be marked on the template?
Lutron document 3684025 requires these marks, with a completed copy of the worksheet attached.
- Track centerline, both ends, pocket extents, drive location
- Wall or pocket position, splice location, center-draw point
- Orientation (A ceiling, B floor), contact details, COM number
How can an installer check a wall's minimum radius?
Lutron document 3684025 proves the 20 in (508 mm) radius with a string test.
- A line between the wall's two ends
- From its midpoint, a line at 90° to the wall
- A mark on that line 20 in from the wall
A 20 in string from the mark arcing tighter than the wall proves the radius exceeds 20 in.
How is the template submitted?
Lutron document 3684025 has the dealer get a quote and COM number first, then order in myProjects.
- Check the template length against the quote
- Photograph the template in place and the mounting surface
- Roll it into a mailing tube with the Lutron-issued label
Lutron rejects a template sent without the COM number and label.
