Lutron's shading document set is the submittals, installation guides, drawings, brochures and notes that describe Lutron's motorized shading systems.

The library holds one page per document.

  • Document types: CAD drawings, installation guides, specification submittals, Revit families, application notes, product brochures, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, Bluebeam tool set
  • Families: Roller Shades, Drapery, Wood Blinds, Honeycomb Shades, Roman Shades, Horizontal Sheer Blinds
  • Plus Tension Shades and Skylights; shared documents are listed under each family
  • Pages run family, system, then drive class; each links to Lutron's PDF
  • Systems: Sivoia QS (wired), Sivoia QS Wireless, Triathlon, Serena, Palladiom, Palladiom Wire-Free, Alena

Systems

Sivoia QS is the wired system and Sivoia QS Wireless adds an RF receiver to the same drives. Triathlon and Serena are the battery systems, Palladiom and Palladiom Wire-Free the exposed-bracket systems, and Alena the hospitality drapery track.

Power

Sivoia QS roller and drapery drives take Class 2, 35 V DC from plug-in, junction-box or panel supplies (085705, 086123). Lutron's Roller 150 (085267) and Roller 200CW (086107) state 24 V DC Class 2 power.

Writing it into a tender

Attach the system's specification submittal by number and revision, with the capacity submittal for a drapery drive. The contractor follows the chassis and mount installation guide; CAD drawings and Revit families carry the mounts into drawings.

1 The family rows hold no sizes of their own; each family hub's guide prints them from its submittals.

2 Wired control comes from seeTouch QS keypads, GRAFIK Eye QS, HomeWorks QSX, Quantum and Athena (085705, 086123).

3 Wireless control comes from Pico, the 4-Group RF remote, RA2 Select, RadioRA 3 and Caséta with Smart Hub PRO.

4 The EDU is the electronic drive unit inside the shade.

5 Class 2 is the low-voltage power class, NEC Class 2, the supply must meet.

6 Noise is given in dBA, the standard sound-level unit.

7 WIDR is Lutron's wide-shade option, a stiffer tube.

8 The QS link is Lutron's four-wire power and communication cable.

Questions about Lutron

Eight questions specifiers ask about the Lutron shading document set, answered from the submittals named in each answer.

How is the Lutron library on newwaykl.com organized?

The library runs by product family, then system, then drive class; a shared document is listed under each family. Roller Shades holds the most documents and Horizontal Sheer Blinds the fewest.

Each page describes one Lutron document and links to its PDF on assets.lutron.com. Typing an exact document number into the search opens that document.

Which Lutron documents go into a tender submittal?

The system's specification submittal, named by number and revision: 085705 for Sivoia QS Roller 64, 086123 for Sivoia QS drapery. A drapery tender adds the drive's capacity submittal, 086119 for the D175, which carries the weights.

The contractor's set adds the installation guide for the mount and the CAD drawing of the bracket.

What warranty does Lutron give on shading systems?

Lutron's warranty 3685115 (printed 368-5115, rev C, December 2024) covers Serena shades and the Sivoia and Palladiom shade systems.

  • Also: Contract roller shades, Caséta shades, manual and AC shade systems
  • Drive unit, fabric and hardware: eight years from shipment
  • Wall controls, interfaces and accessories: one year

Parts credited 100% to five years, 50% to eight; on-site labor excluded.

What power does a Lutron Sivoia QS shade or drapery drive need?

Class 2, 35 V DC from a Lutron supply, per the Roller 64 submittal 085705 and drapery chassis submittal 086123.

  • Supplies: plug-in QSPS-Px-1-35V, junction-box QSPS-J-1-35V, QSPS-10PNL panel, WIN-PS-5CC-R configurable panel
  • Roller 150 (085267) and Roller 200CW (086107): 24 V DC Class 2
  • Drive power 250 ft (75 m) on 12 AWG (4.0 mm²) (085705)

Which Lutron shading systems run on batteries?

Lutron's Palladiom Wire-Free runs on three, four or six D-cell batteries at 4.5 to 9.0 V DC (085708).

  • Palladiom Wire-Free: to 12 ft (3.66 m) wide
  • Roman kit (085762): D cells, 6.0 to 12.0 V DC
  • Roman kit: 11.7 lb (5.3 kg) lift, widths to 109.5 in (2.78 m)

Both report a 30 ft (9 m) wireless range.

How quiet are Lutron motorized shades and draperies?

Lutron rates the Roller 64 EDU at no more than 35 dBA measured 3 ft (1 m) from the EDU (085705). The Triathlon and Serena Roman kit measures 38 dBA at 3 ft (0.91 m) (085762).

Drapery EDUs on Sivoia QS and Alena do not exceed 50 dB at 3 ft (1 m) (086123, 085319).

How does a Lutron shading system connect to third-party equipment?

Lutron's QSE-IO (369374) gives five inputs and five dry contact closure outputs on a QS link.

  • 24 to 36 V DC, 100 mA; outputs normally open and closed
  • Inputs open, close, raise, lower, stop or recall three presets

Each QSE-IO counts as one device, five zones and 3 power draw units; the link caps at 2000 ft (610 m).

How wide can a Lutron roller shade be?

Up to 8 ft (2.438 m) for a Sivoia QS Roller 64, or 12 ft (3.657 m) as WIDR (085705).

  • Roller 64 from 17.5 in (444.5 mm); fabric can limit the size
  • Palladiom Wire-Free: 21 in (53.34 cm) to 12 ft (3.66 m) wide (085708)
  • Roller 150: sized by area, 150 sq ft (14 sq m) per EDU (085267)
