Installation walk-through for 045506

Lutron document 045506 gives eight steps, in the document's order.

The clearance, the check and the warning under a step are the document's own.

  1. Check for a Smart Bridge

Find the shade button with its LED on the shade. Lutron uses it to start and confirm each programming step.

If a Lutron Smart Bridge is installed in the home, program and control the shade from the Lutron App. The button steps below do not apply.

    Check: Shade button located

  2. Assign a Pico wireless control

Tap the shade button once and wait for it to light. Press and hold the Close button on the Pico.

When the shade button flashes, the Pico is assigned. Repeat the steps for each further assignment.

    Check: Shade button flashed

  3. Assign a Lutron 4-Group RF remote

Tap the shade button and wait for it to light. Pick the shade group button on the remote that should drive this shade and hold it down.

A flash of the shade button confirms the assignment. Repeat for any further assignments.

    Check: Shade button flashed

  4. Adjust the limits, if needed

Skip to step 5 if the factory limits suit the window.

Tap the shade button and wait for its light. Hold Open and Raise together until the shade button flashes and stays on.

Drive the shade with Raise and Lower to the top or bottom position you want. Hold Open to store the upper limit or Close to store the lower one.

Check: Shade button flashes to confirm the limit

  5. Set a favorite level, if wanted

Drive the shade with Raise and Lower to the level you want. Hold the Favorite button until the shade button flashes.

Several shades on one control can hold different favorites. First take one battery out of each shade that should not change.

Check: Shade button flashes to confirm the favorite

  6. Reset the shade to factory defaults

Tap the shade button quickly three times, holding after the third tap until the LED blinks green fast. Straight away tap it three more times.

The LED blinks green fast, then red and green three times, and goes out. Control assignments and the favorite are cleared and the limits stay.

Check: LED off after the red and green blinks

  7. Reset a Pico

Triple tap the top or bottom button and keep holding after the third tap. The LED beside the top button glows steadily after about 3 seconds.

Release, then triple tap again at once. The LED flashes quickly, and the reset is complete when it stops.

    Check: LED has stopped flashing

Warning: A reset removes all shade assignments and favorite programming

  8. Reset a 4-Group remote

Tap All Shade Groups, then triple tap Open or Close and keep holding after the third tap. The All Shade Groups LED lights for about 3 to 5 seconds.

Hold on until that LED goes out, then release and triple tap at once. The group 1 to 4 LEDs and All Shade Groups light for about 3 to 5 seconds, then go out.

Check: All LEDs off: the remote is reset
