Installation walk-through for 048463

Lutron document 048463 gives ten steps, in the document's order.

The clearance, the check and the warning under a step are the document's own.

  1. Assign the Pico to the QSM

Hold the QSM's programming button for about 5 seconds until it beeps and its LED flashes quickly. Then hold Close on the Pico for about 5 seconds.

Hold the QSM button again for about 5 seconds to leave programming mode.

Check: Three beeps from the QSM confirm the Pico; one QSM takes up to 10 Picos.

  2. Enter Pico programming mode

Hold Open and Close together on the Pico for about 5 seconds.

Unassigned shades run to their upper limit with a slow LED flash. Assigned shades run to their lower limit with a quick flash.

  3. Assign or unassign shades

Tap Open or Close to step through the shades; the selected one jogs up and down a few inches.

Tap Lower to assign it or Raise to unassign it. Hold Open and Close for about 5 seconds to exit.

Check: The QSM beeps after each assignment or unassignment.

  4. Choose the limit sequence

A Pico without an LED (PJ-3BRL-GWG-T02) follows part A on page 5. A Pico with an LED (QSR4P-3R-WG-E02) follows part B on page 6.

  5. Part A: set the upper limit

Hold Open and Raise for about 5 seconds and select the shade. Drive it to the upper limit with Raise and Lower, then hold Open for about 5 seconds.

Check: The shade LED flashes rapidly for 3 seconds and limit set mode ends by itself.

  6. Part A: set the lower limit

Enter limit set mode again and reselect the same shade. Drive it to the lower limit and hold Close for about 5 seconds.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each shade.

  7. Part B: set both limits

Enter limit set mode and select a shade. Save the upper limit with Open and the lower with Close, about 5 seconds each.

Move to the next shade. Hold Open and Raise for about 5 seconds to exit once all are done.

Check: The QSM beeps and its quick LED flash stops.

  8. Presets, method 1

Move one shade, or several, to the level wanted with Raise and Lower. Hold Preset for about 5 seconds to give them that preset.

  9. Presets, method 2

In Pico programming mode, tap Preset; the QSM beeps and assigned shades go to their presets. Select each shade in turn and set its own level with Raise and Lower.

  10. Save the presets and exit

Hold Preset for about 5 seconds; the assigned shades then go to their lower limits. Hold Open and Close for about 5 seconds to leave programming mode.

Check: The QSM beeps and stops flashing quickly.
