Installation walk-through for 045717

Lutron document 045717 gives eight steps, in the document's order, after the tools and fixings it lists.

The clearance, the check and the warning under a step are the document's own.

Tools

  • Pliers, for bent or misaligned pins (step 8)

Fixings

  • Four mounting screws, one through each mounting tab of the module
  • Screw torque 6 in-lb (0.7 N·m)
  1. Switch off the main supply

Turn off the main source of power to the QS power panel before the module is touched. Lutron document 045717 asks for every power source to be disconnected before the unit is serviced.

Check: Panel isolated at the main source

Warning: Electric shock can cause serious injury or death

  2. Remove the module mounting screws

Take out the four mounting screws of the power module, as the drawing on page 1 shows. The translated versions word this step for replacing an existing module.

    Check: All four screws out

  3. Pull out the old module or placeholder

Pull the existing power module, or the module placeholder, straight out of the power panel. Lutron document 045717 asks for a straight pull away from the panel.

Check: Slot empty, mainboard slots and sockets visible

  4. Set the old module aside and mark it

Put the removed module to one side and mark it. The mark keeps the old module from being taken for the new one during the swap.

    Check: Old module marked

  5. Align and seat the new module

Line up the five locating tabs (AA) on the new module with the five slots (A) on the mainboard. Line up its five male connectors (BB) with the five sockets (B).

Insert the module as drawn, using the mounting holes as a guide and holding it straight and vertical. Once the alignment is confirmed, press the module in firmly so every connector is fully seated.

Check: All five tabs in their slots and all five connectors fully home

Warning: Hold the module straight and vertical so the tabs and connectors meet their slots and sockets

  6. Fit and tighten the screws

Put one mounting screw through each of the four mounting tabs on the module. Tighten each screw to 6 in-lb (0.7 N·m).

    Clearance: Torque 6 in-lb (0.7 N·m)

Check: Four screws in, each at the stated torque

  7. Repeat for the panel's other module

Where the panel's other power module is also being replaced or installed, repeat steps 2 to 6 for that slot. Skip this step when only one module is being changed.

Check: Every module being changed is seated and screwed down

  8. Restore power and check the LEDs

Switch the main source back on and look at the LED at each output served by the new module. All five lit means the installation is complete.

When one stays dark, switch off and take the module out using steps 1 to 3. Look for bent, misaligned or broken pins and straighten bent ones with pliers.

Repeat steps 5 to 8. Broken pins, or LEDs still dark afterwards, go to Lutron Technical Support.

Check: All five output LEDs lit

Warning: Power goes off again before the module comes out for a pin check

Other warnings Lutron prints in 045717
  • Electric shock can cause serious injury or death
  • Every power source is disconnected before the unit is serviced
  • Installation by a qualified person in line with all national and local codes
  • Compatible Lutron QS power panels only
  • Some older QSPS-10PNL and QSPSY-10PNL versions need the whole panel replaced
  • Indoor use only

Requirements Lutron states in 045717

What the guide requires for a Sivoia QS shade before and during installation:

Module and panels
The WIN-PS-5CC suits compatible Lutron QS power panels only, the QSPS-10PNL and QSPSY-10PNL. Some older versions need the entire panel replaced instead, which Lutron Technical Support confirms.
Input rating
120 V~ to 240 V~, 50/60 Hz, 1 A (x5)
Output rating
35 V DC at 143 mA on each of five outputs per module. Lutron prints it with its DC symbol as 35 V-.
Environment
Ambient 32 °F to 104 °F (0 °C to 40 °C), 0 to 90% humidity, no condensation. Indoor use only.
Installer and safety
A qualified person, to all national and local codes. Every power source disconnected before servicing, because of the electric shock risk.
Removal
Four mounting screws out, then the old module or placeholder pulled straight out. The old module is set aside and marked so it is not taken for the new one.
Alignment
Five tabs (AA) into five mainboard slots (A), and five male connectors (BB) into five sockets (B). The module goes in straight and vertical, then is pressed home firmly.
Fixing and torque
One mounting screw through each of the four mounting tabs, each tightened to 6 in-lb (0.7 N·m)
Second module
Steps 2 to 6 are repeated for the panel's other power module when that one is also replaced or fitted.
Check after power-up
All five output LEDs of the new module must light.
  • A dark LED means power off, module out and a pin check
  • Bent pins are straightened with pliers
  • Broken pins go to Lutron Technical Support
Not in the document
No module dimensions or weight, no panel mounting or line wiring, and no shade cable wiring on the outputs

Questions about document 045717

The answers come from Lutron document 045717 and New Way's record of it.

What is Lutron document 045717?

Lutron's two-page power module installation sheet, P/N 045717 revision A, dated 01/2019, repeated in eight languages.

Which revision of 045717 is current?

Rev A, dated January 2019, is the revision Lutron publishes. New Way checked it against assets.lutron.com on 15 October 2026.

Which roller shades does 045717 cover?

Lutron Sivoia QS roller shades.

Which panels take the WIN-PS-5CC power module?

Lutron document 045717 limits the module to compatible Lutron QS power panels, naming the QSPS-10PNL and the QSPSY-10PNL. Some older versions of those panels need replacing whole, and Lutron document 045717 sends that question to Lutron Technical Support.

What does the WIN-PS-5CC module supply?

Lutron document 045717 prints the module's input and output ratings.

  • Input: 120 V~ to 240 V~, 50/60 Hz, 1 A (x5)
  • Output: 35 V DC at 143 mA on each of five outputs

How is the module fixed in the panel?

Lutron document 045717 seats the module straight and vertical, so its five tabs and five connectors meet the mainboard. The module is then pressed home and fixed with four screws, each at 6 in-lb (0.7 N·m).

What if an output LED stays off after power-up?

Lutron document 045717 says to switch off, remove the module and look for bent, misaligned or broken pins. Bent pins are straightened with pliers.

Lutron document 045717 sends broken pins, or LEDs that stay dark, to Lutron Technical Support.

Can a QS power panel hold two power modules?

Lutron document 045717 refers to the panel's other power module and repeats steps 2 to 6 for it. Lutron document 045717 also allows for a module placeholder, which comes out the same way as an old module.
