    About Palladiom

    Lutron's Palladiom roller shade is a wired Sivoia QS motorized shade on exposed solid aluminum or brass brackets. Lutron installs it without a fascia or pocket.

    Sizes and noise

    The guide below prints the shade's sizes, light gaps, noise and bracket limits from submittal 085560. Lutron's Intelligent Hembar Alignment paper 3672063 explains the alignment as closed-loop speed control plus roll-up diameter compensation.

    Power and wiring

    The shade's connector takes 16 AWG to 24 AWG (0.25 mm² to 1.5 mm²) wire; submittal 085593 notes it is not sized for 12 AWG. Submittal 085274's QSPS-J-1-50, a 24 V DC supply on 120 V~, is not in the 085560 list of sources.

    Writing it into a tender

    A specifier writes the section against performance specification 122400 and attaches submittal 085560 and the panel submittal. The installer follows 045658 (planning, template), 045969 (setup), 045770 and 045779 (wire housing, spackle ring).

    1 Submittal 085560 does not state a wireless range for the QS Wireless shade.

    2 Submittal 085560 does not list the 24 V DC QSPS-J-1-50 among the Palladiom shade's compatible sources. Ask New Way to confirm before scheduling it.

    3 Class 2 is the low-voltage power class, NEC Class 2, the supply must meet.

    4 Noise is given in dBA, the standard sound-level unit.

    How wide can a Lutron Palladiom roller shade be?

    Up to 12 ft (3.66 m) wide and 14 ft (4.27 m) tall for a single shade, per submittal 085560.

    The finished sleeve on the tube matches the bracket, so no bare tube shows.

    Does a Lutron Palladiom shade need a power panel?

    No: submittal 085560 lists plug-in supplies QSPS-P1-1-35V to QSPS-P3-1-35V and the junction box supply QSPS-J-1-35V for single shades.

    • Larger systems: 10-output panels QSPS-10PNL and QSPSY-10PNL
    • Configurable panels QSPS-10PNL-NPM and QSPS-30PNL-NPM with WIN-PS-5CC-R modules

    The 10-output panel stands 18 in (457 mm) high and weighs 15 lb (6.8 kg); a standalone QS link holds 100 devices and 100 zones.

    How far can a Palladiom shade sit from its power supply?

    Can a Palladiom shade work with RadioRA 3 or Caséta?

    Yes, in the QS Wireless configuration: submittal 085560 fits the QSYC-x-RCVR wireless receiver through the QSYC-ADAPTER.

    What is the difference between Palladiom wired and Palladiom Wire-Free?

    Submittal 085560 describes the wired shade, powered over a 4-wire QS cable at 35 V DC. The panels and junction box supplies apply to the wired shade only.

    Brochure 3671319 gives the Wire-Free version the same bracket family, six D-cell batteries and 3 to 5 years of life.

    What light gap does a Lutron Palladiom shade leave?

    As small as 1/2 in (12 mm) each side, symmetrical, per submittal 085560.

    • Fabric deduction (tall, narrow shades): gap widens to 3/4 in (19 mm)
    • Inside mount: 1/16 in (1.6 mm) off the first and last shade's bracket width
    • Idler can extend 1/8 in (3 mm) for tolerance, widening the idler-side gap

    Seven standard finishes, per submittal 085560: six on aluminum brackets and Aged Bronze on brass.
